I hope your Thanksgiving yesterday was wonderful - for those of us in the US, and well wishes to all, no matter where you are! Enjoy the weekend, preferably surrounded by family and friends. ~JRC
Making time for thank you
A Thanksgiving note to all
First published November 26th, 2021
Thanks - what a simple word. What a powerful word. When wielded genuinely and from the heart, saying "thanks" connects us as few other words do.
I want to share my gratitude today in this short holiday post. It warms my heart knowing so many of you take the time each week to read along. I feel connected to you through these essays, and it keeps me creative and ready for more.
So thank you. For being here. And for all the other wonderful things you do in this world.
Connecting with family, friends, coworkers, a friendly server, barista, or bartender - even strangers - human interactions make life worth living. Even in the virtual world, here, over wire and wifi, we still touch one another. And special times like now are beautiful opportunities to show sincere appreciation to all who do.
There's a verse in Louis Armstrong's What a Wonderful World that comes to mind as I write:
I see friends shaking hands
Saying how do you do
They're really saying
I love you
I believe a sincere thank you says the same thing.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone. And thank you again.

I second Cliff’s comment. We spent our day with dear friends, cooking, making music, remembering times past with other friends and family. We have a lot to be thankful this Thanksgiving, and every day for that matter.
We strive to make the life we want to live, trying new things, failing sometimes, but always learning something in the process. Your writing, J. Robert, is a mirror to life well lived. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and projects with us. They are inspiring.
I couldn’t agree more. :-)
My parents always taught us kids that the two most important words in the English language (all languages really) are Please and Thank You. I guess they thought of “Thank You” as a single word.
Thank you J. Robert for sharing your experiences and warm-hearted philosophy through the medium of words.
Happy Thanksgiving 😊
