May your week be filled with creativity. ~JRC
Creativity is a source of happiness. When we make things, be it music, art, or dinner, we feel accomplished. We feel better. Making connects the body, mind, and heart like no other endeavor.
When we make, we are alive.
But too often, we go about our lives without making anything of substance. We trudge along, doing our day jobs, checking boxes, following rules, all without question - and without creativity. We live in prepackaged, prescripted worlds - easy to follow but hard to swallow. We do the things we have to because we have to, and little more.
But what about making time - time for identity, time for fullness, time for revelation? Where is the time for creativity?
Don't be defeated - make something instead.
Make a painting. Make a cake. Make a velvet pouch for your favorite set of D&D dice. Make something for yourself if for no other reason than to make.
Make a meal. Make a wood box. Make someone happy by making them a card. Make anything to stem the tyranny of complacency.
Make a story. Make a campfire. Make a knitted wool scarf for someone special. Make something that inspires others.
It doesn't matter what you make, so long as you make.
Until next time.
