Happy Friday, all. Today, less of a story and more of a thank you. I've said it before, but it never hurts to repeat, especially when appreciation is genuine. ~JRC
Over the last few weeks, I've had several new subscribers, and a number of you have upgraded your memberships to paid. And a few of you have even upped your annual contribution to become part of the JRC Insiders.
Your generosity keeps me going in so many ways.
The financial reward is obvious - thanks for keeping the lights on in my shop. But as important, the moral support your contributions bring is intangible. You made the time, and financial commitment, to show me you [somehow] believe in this thing. And in me.
I can't express my gratitude enough.
I have been opening up more and more content for everyone, not just paid subscribers, at a time when more of you are going paid. Coincidence? I'm curious how those of you who do pay feel about this.
I want exclusives for you and have explored several options. But it seems like the best model is content for all, with subscribers showing their support for the newsletter as a whole and not just access to exclusive stuff.
Please do let me know what you expect going forward.
Until next time.

J. Robert, I kind of wrote my thing with the email, but I can say that the philosophical J. Robert is much more interesting to me than the hands-on real-life things. You may already know my bent in life from our conversations at Selby. I don't think we hardly ever mentioned botany the whole time. I miss those conversations. Is there a category of philosophic maker? Wes
Hi, J.R. I'm glad to see that your content is resonating with the readership. As I understand it (I may be wrong), there are three tiers: Free, Subscriber, and Insider. Not totally sure of the difference so perhaps clarifying may give more insight. You may end up with two tiers, Free and Insider.
And I love the Conservation Tools section! I'm already thinking of things I have struggled with in the field that would benefit from your skillset.
Thanks for all the good early-morning reading!
